Pet of the Month
Rabbits would have to be among the cutest creatures on earth, with their adorable floppy ears, soft fur and sweet natures, however they often get treated very cruelly by us humans. We experiment on them, test our cosmetics on them and farm them for their meat and fur. The kind people at Freedom for Farmed Rabbits (FFR) are trying to improve the lot of rabbits by raising awareness about their plight, especially those that are factory farmed. They investigate and bear witness to the conditions on these farms, where [...]

Australian Working Dog Rescue (AWDRI) was founded by husband and wife team Di and Carey Edwards and is dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of working dog breeds, including cattle dogs, kelpies, border collies and koolies. They rescue dogs from pounds all across Australia and abide by the philosophy that no animal should be euthanised because of a lack of working ability, commitment or space in a council pound. You can find out more about AWDRI and the wonderful work they do here. If you’re looking for a canine [...]

This month we’d like to bring your attention to an amazing animal rescue group called Paws for Thought (PFT) run by a husband and wife team in Sydney. Paws for Thought is unique in that it focuses on the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs with special needs, or as they are affectionately referred to by PFT founders, the Crusties and Wobblies. Most PFT dogs arrive in care with a range of medical issues. While in care, any acute medical issues are resolved while treatment plans for any ongoing [...]

Pet of the Month
There are so many incredible groups out there doing amazing work by fostering and rehoming abandoned animals. These days at the dog park you’re just as likely to hear people discussing which rescue group they got their pooch from as which breeder they used. We want to sing their praises and help out where we can by featuring a pet of the month that is looking for a forever home. Our featured pet this month is the adorable Cooper who is being cared for by No Kill Pet Rescue, a [...]
