Australian Working Dog Rescue (AWDRI) was founded by husband and wife team Di and Carey Edwards and is dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of working dog breeds, including cattle dogs, kelpies, border collies and koolies. They rescue dogs from pounds all across Australia and abide by the philosophy that no animal should be euthanised because of a lack of working ability, commitment or space in a council pound. You can find out more about AWDRI and the wonderful work they do here.
If you’re looking for a canine companion that is highly intelligent, intensely loyal, active and full or character, then a working dog breed is the right choice for you. Our pet of the month is the very handsome Bumper.
This is Bumper’s profile:
Hi my name is Bumper! I am a really loveable and affectionate Cattle Dog x. I enjoy long walks on the beach, drives in the car, playtime with the sprinkler and chasing balls. My most favourite thing is to follow my humans around everywhere. I love pats and attention from everybody, including my three year old human foster sister who I adore. I have learnt commands such as Sit, Wait, Yes, No and Ok and have also mastered the ability to wait patiently for my dinner until told I can eat.
I would be ideally suited in any situation as I am very well behaved and could live quite happily and content anywhere as long as it was with my humans. My foster Mum has done a great job teaching me and as much as she wants me to stay, I need to find my furever home soon so she can save some more pups. So please don’t delay and apply for me today!
To meet, adopt or find out more details about Bumper, please read our page on the adoption process and then fill out our adoption questionnaire.
