I wish I had the time and energy to make my own cleaning products but the fact of the matter is I don’t. I buy a range of different ‘eco’ products, depending on where I’m doing my shopping, and I have often wondered if the stuff available at the supermarkets is the real deal. I decided to investigate.
What is it?
Earth Choice household cleaning products. They have an extensive range to cover pretty much all of your cleaning needs.
Earth Choice is owned by parent company Natures Organics, which is 100% Australian made and owned. They strive to use natural, plant-based products wherever possible.
Earth Choice products are certified cruelty-free. They have turned down the opportunity to export to China due to their commitment not to test their products on animals (China requires products to be tested on animals before they are able to be sold there).
While Earth Choice products do contain palm oil they are actively searching for suitable alternatives. They have partnered with The Forest Trust (TFT), an international not-for-profit organisation, enabling them to fully trace the source of their palm oil derived ingredients through their supply chain.
All Earth Choice bottles are made from recycled PET plastic while their boxes are made from 95% recycled materials. They have also partnered with an organization called TerraCycle so that all parts of their packaging, including cleaning product triggers, can be fully recycled. Learn more about it here: http://www.terracycle.com.au/en-AU/account/sign_up.html.
They support a number of worthy causes, including the Orangutan Project and Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, as well as others.
How do they work?
I don’t like exposing my family to harsh chemicals and won’t buy anything that has been tested on animals so I’ve been buying ‘eco’ cleaning products for years. What I really like about Earth Choice products is that they work well, they’re readily available and the price is right!
Where to buy it?
Earth Choice products are available in major supermarkets throughout Australia. You can also buy their products online here: http://www.ethicalbuying.com.au/.
