While I’m not vegan, I choose not to wear leather so I was absolutely thrilled to come across this brand of non-leather bags and wallets. In the past I’ve been quite content to wear boho-style fabric bags but as I’m maturing (in years anyway!), I’ve been looking for something a little more sophisticated. Matt & Nat definitely fits the bill!
What is it?
Matt & Nat – short for Mat(t)erial and Nature – is a brand of luxe, non-leather women’s and men’s bags, wallets and accessories.
No leather or any other animal based materials are used in Matt and Nat products. As well as using polyurethane (PU) and polyvinylchloride (PVC) they incorporate a range of sustainable and eco-friendly materials, such as recycled nylon, cork and rubber, into their products wherever possible. Their linings are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
How does it look?
Matt & Nat proves that you don’t need to forgo style just because you’ve made the decision to forgo leather. The look is simple yet elegant with a focus on timeless design and durability. Their range includes loads of different styles, including satchels, totes and clutches as well as wallets and iPad sleeves. They also do a men’s range.
Where to buy it?
Matt & Nat is based in Montreal, Canada. You can buy their products online at http://mattandnat.com/. The Cruelty Free Shop, which has stores in Sydney (Glebe) and Melbourne (Fitzroy), as well as an online store (http://www.crueltyfreeshop.com.au/), also carries some of their range.
